Our Inspiration

Being Bucephalandra enthusiasts, we adore the species for its cute stems that can be reddish to pink, and the fascinating unexpected colours of the leaves such as copper, purple and black. The glitter that be seen on most leaves look like a galaxy of distant stars - this is definitely the favourite part of our photo shoots.

Under emerged or submerged conditions, the leaves of these unassuming genus of flowering plants display different personalities. They also reflect various colours when viewed at different angles, such shades of blue, green, purple and red.

Bucephalandra are endemic plants growing only in the rapid waters of the streams on the island of Borneo where she enjoys a tropical savanna climate. Found mainly along river banks, the rhizomes cling firmly on nearby rocks or wood to survive the strong currents and they spread really fast in such an environment.

In recent years, we can see a trend of cultivating Bucephalandra in vivariums. It can thrive well in man-made conditions if one can simulate its natural habitat as much as possible - in swift currents, with sufficient CO2, strong lighting and good fertiliser.

Bucephalandra are initially expensive, but have become more affordable over time. We are passionate about sharing this species with all of you. We hope to trigger interests and create viewing pleasure with our shots. To the hobbyists, we will try our best to make available your desired species to you.

Thanks to our friends for your support. Please continue to spread our secret and enjoy our posts!
